Expert Answer:

We know that,
Discount = D% of marked price, MP
Discount = Marked Price – Selling Price
Marked Price – Amount of Discount = Selling Price

First let us assume that the MP is 'x'.
Discount % is 8 1 third space equals space 25 over 3
We will now find the discount
Discount = D% of MP
=25 over 3 percent sign of x
=fraction numerator 25 x over denominator 300 end fraction

Now,
Marked Price – Amount of Discount = Selling Price
x-fraction numerator 25 x over denominator 300 end fraction=2475
=fraction numerator 300 x minus 25 x over denominator 300 end fraction space equals space 2475 rightwards double arrow fraction numerator 275 x over denominator 300 end fraction equals 2475 rightwards double arrow x equals fraction numerator 2475 cross times 300 over denominator 275 end fraction space equals space 2700
Hope you understood this.
