Heating wires have high melting points and can withstand high current flows. As they allow large currents, they gets heated up due to the energy dissipated because of the resistance offered. While fuse wires have low melting point, and as soon as current value increases a certain value they gets heated and melts to break the circuit. Fuse wires are widely used to prevent circuits from any loss due to accidental large current flows.
