steam produces more severe burn as it has more energy then boiling water at 100 c
when heat is supplied to water at room temp its temp rises when temp reaches 100 c ie boiling pt then heat being supplied is used to change the state ie turn water into steam at 100c keeping temp constant .so steam has energy supplied to raise temp of water to 100 c + energy supplied to turn water into steam
