What is zero error in a screw gauge?

There are two kinds of zero errorpositive and negative zero error.
1. Positive zero error: When the zero mark of the circular scale is below the base line of the main scale, the zero error is said to be positive.
2. Negative zero error: When the zero markof the circular scale is above the base line of the main scale, the zero error is said to be negative.
