what is virtual image and real image? whats the difference between refraction and reflection?

Real image

Virtual image

1. The image can be captured in a screen.

1. The image cannot be captured in a screen.

2. The image is always inverted.

2. The image is always erect.

3. Light rays actually meet to form a real image.

3. Light rays do not actually meet to form a virtual image.

 

Reflection

Refraction

1. Light is bounced back by a surface.

1. Light travels from one medium to another and changes its path if it is incident on the interface of medium obliquely.

2. There is no change in velocity of light.

2. Velocity of light changes after refraction from one medium to another.

3. The incident angle and reflected angle are always equal.

3. The incident angle and the angle of refraction are not always equal.

4. Reflection is found in mirrors.

4. Refraction is found in lenses.
