What is threshold frequency?

Expert Answer:

The minimum frequency of light required by metals to eject the electrons is known as threshold frequency.

It is different for different metals.

Light of frequency less than threshold frequency cannot eject electrons no matter how long it falls on the surface or how high is its intensity.
