what is the working of silenser in gun

Expert Answer:

  • A silencer or a supressor is attached with internal screw threads to the end of the barrel
  • This silencer has a huge volume compared to the barrel about 20 or 30 times more.
  • This helps the pressurized gas behind the bullet to expand freely in that large volume of the silencer.
  • So the pressure of the hot gas falls significantly and reduces the sound of a bullet shot.
