what is the use of dimensions??

Hello,
Please be explicit for your question. When you say "Use of Dimensions" do you mean using dimensions in some specific problem??
Dimensions are necessary to understand, as this is one of the property of physical quantities.
Physical quantities with same dimensions can only be added and subtracted.
For example: length (any line) is of one dimension.
And lets suppose area of square, area being a 2-dimensional quantity.
You can not add 1 m with 1 meter square. you can only add/subtract meter with meter, and meter square with meter square only.
Understanding of dimensions will be necessary for more concepts.
