What is the relation between amplitude & frequency in a sound wave?

Expert Answer:

Amplitude is the maximum displacement of the particle of a medium from its mean position and frequency is the number of vibrations produced per unit time. Loudness of sound depends on amplitude and pitch/shrillness depends on frequency.
