Chloroplasts are also called 'kitchens of the cells'. In kitchens, the food for the homes are prepared. In a similar manner, chloroplasts are involved in making the food of the plants through photosynthesis. Chloroplasts contain the green pigment chlorophyll, which is important for photosynthesis.
