The importance of plastids are:
i) Chloroplasts trap solar energy and carry out photosynthesis.
ii) Leucolasts store food in various forms such as starch, oils and protein granules.
iii) Chromoplasts, other than chloroplasts, carry out various functions such as imparting colors to flowers to aid in pollination
