what is the first law of motion

Expert Answer
- Newton's first law of motion states that an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion at a constant velocity, unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.
- This law of motion is also known as the law of inertia, where inertia is the resistance to change in motion.
- eg. A rolling sphere will remain to roll over a plane unless the external unbalanced force stops it. i.e in this case, the frictional force.
