What is the effect of pressure in change the state of matter?

In general the ideal gases follow the law:
If temperature is maintained constant and pressure is varied then corresponding effects are seen on volume and hence states. If pressure is increased then volume decreases and state an gaseous substance changes to liquid and a liquid changes to solid. In the similar manner change of state takes place if pressure is reduced .(Volume increases and corresponding changes in states of matter can be deduced).
