There is no easy way. You have to take the time and effort to go through the characteristics of each phylum, along with the examples of each. There is a systematic way to go about it.
First of all, understand the meaning of all terms associated with classification of animals like notochord, germ layers, coelom, etc. and also understand the variations found in each of these criteria in the animal kingdoms. Then study the features of each phylum by corelating and comparing with the other animla phyla. Also see how the body features gradually progress from simple to complex, as we proceed from phylum Protozoa to Chordata. Remember one prominent example for each phylum, which will help in remembering the features of the phylum.
