What is the difference between Weight and Mass?

Mass is the quantity of matter contained in an object and it is measured in Kg whereas weight is the force which an object exerts downwards due to gravitational attraction . It is measured in newton . Weight depends on mass and the strength of gravitational field ; W = mg
