What is the difference between Potential and Potentilal energy?
Asked by thebluebloo | 18th Dec, 2009, 03:32: PM
HI dear,
POtential enegy is the energy stored within a physical system as a result of configuration of the parts of the system. It is called potential energy because it has the potential to convert to other forms of energy like kinetic energy to do work i the process.
At a point in space, potential ( electrostatic potential) is the potential energy per unit charge that is associated with a static electric feild.
Hope this helps.
