The Principal quantum number give the no. of shells present in an atom,and name of shell.
For eg, if n=2, the shellis
THe azimuthal Q no. gives about the information of no of subshells.
For eg, if n=2, no of subshells = 0 to (n-1)
=0,1
so,no of subshells are 2.which is s and p.because is l=0 subshell is s.and for l=1,subshellis p.
