Melting poing is the temperature at which a solid changes to liquid under atmospheric pressure.Freezing point is the temperature at which liquid changes to solid under atmospheric pressure.
The only difference between the two is the direction of phase change. In melting it is from solid to liquid. In freezing it is liquid to solid.
In theory, the melting point of a solid should be the same as the freezing point of the liquid. In practice, small differences between these quantities can be observed.
