what is the difference between magnification and resolution?

Dear student
Magnification is the ratio of size of the image to the size of the object.
Angular Magnification is the ratio of angle subtended by the image as seen through an optical instrument to the angle subtended by the object at the objective of the instrument.
Resolution gives the measure of the ability of an optical instrument to form seperate and distinguishable images of two objects very close to each other.
