Differences between fungi and virus:

Fungi

Virus

  • They are single-celled or forms of threads like structures.
  • They are unicellular organisms which are on the borderline of living and non-living as they can only survive when inside the host body.
  • They are living.
  • They are considered non-living.
  • They are free-living organisms which do not depend upon a host.
  • They depend upon the host for their survival.
  • They either use saprophytic or parasitic nutrition.
  • They use parasitic mode of nutrition harming the host.
  • Some examples are yeast and mushrooms.
  • Some examples are SV40, AIDS virus (HIV), Adenovirus.
