what is the difference between electric potential and electric potential difference?

Expert Answer:

The electric potenial at a point in an electric field is the work required to bring a unit positive charge from infinity to that point. ( V = W / Q )

The electric potential difference between two points in an electric field is the work done in moving a unit positive charge from one point to another. (  V1 - V2 = W/Q ).
