What is the difference between cyclone and tornado?

A cyclone (tropical) is a large destructive storm which mostly originate over the coasts. |
A tornado is a violent storm which originate over land.

Cyclones usually occur in tropical areas over the Pacific and Indian Oceans. |
Tornadoes occur on all continents except Antarctica where cold and warm fronts meet. |
Tropical cyclones can last for a days or days. |
Tornadoes typically last only for few minutes. |
Their intensity is measured on the Beauford scale or the Saffir-Simpson scale. |
Their strength is measured on the Fujita scale |
