Atoms are the smallest particle of an element and is the unit of chemical reactions.it may or may not have independent existence.
Molecule is the smallest particle of a substance (elment or compound ) which can exit independently.
A compound may be defined as the substance obtained by the combination of two or more elements in a definite proportion by mass and can be decomposed by chemical means into its constituent elements.
Matter , substances are same.
