What is the difference between aqueous and non aqueous solutions?

Aqueous Solution
A solution in which water has been used as a solvent. Example: Solution of common salt or sugar in water.
Non-Aqueous Solution
A solution in which the solvent used is other than water. Example: Sulphur dissolved in carbon disulphide. Non-aqueous solvents are alcohol, benzene, ether, acetone etc.
