What is the difference between alpha D-glucose and beta D-glucose?

Expert Answer:
Glucose exist in 2 different forms alpha & beta. alpha is obtained by crystalisation of conc solution at 303 K while beta form is obtianed at 371 K . The 2 cyclic structures differ at C1 hydroxl group orientation.
