Expert Answer:
Methyl orange shows yellow colour in neutral medium. Because the pH of a neutral solution is approximately 7 and falls after the color change of methyl orange.
Phenolpthalein is colourless in neutral medium. Below a pH of 8.2 Phenolpthalein is colourless. Above this pH it turns pink indicating basic nature.
