Expert Answer
Refraction of light is the phenomenon of change in the path of light, when it goes from one medium to another.
The laws of refraction are:
- Whenever light goes from one medium to another, the frequency of light, colour of light and the phase of light does not change. However the velocity of light and the wavelength of light change.
- The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal all lie in the same plane.
- The product of refractive index and the sine of angle of incidence/refraction at a point in a medium is constant.
