what is refraction and at what type of surfaces do refractions take place?

Expert Answer:

Dear student
Refraction is bending of light as it moves from one optical medium to another.
The change in direction in path of light happens due to change in speed of light in different media.

Any interface separating two optical medium of different refractive index will allow refarction to take place. The interface can be plane, spherical , i.e., convex or concave or crooked.....but at each ppoint of incidence on the refracting surafce will result in refraction of light.

We hope that clarifies your query.
