Expert Answer
Rational number:
If the number is in fraction form that is p/q (q is not equal to zero) then it must be a rational number.
If the number is in decimal form and its decimal points are either terminating or non-terminating repeating then also it is a rational number.
for eqs. 2/5, -3/7, 0.23, etc.
Irrational number:
A decimal number whose decimal representation is non-terminating and non-repeating is called irrational number. Also the number with radical sign are also irrational.
for eg. 1.252552555..., etc.
