Expert Answer
A ratio is a comparison of two quantities. We denote ratio using symbol ': '.
Example- Find the ratio of 60 cm to 1.2 m.
Solution: The quantities are not in the same units. Therefore we have to convert them in to same units.
1.2 m = 1.2100 = 120 cm
The required ratio can be written as 60: 120
Therefore, the required ratio is 1: 2.
