Proximal Convoluted Tubule is the convoluted portion of the vertebrate nephron that lies between Bowman's capsule and the loop of Henle. It is made up of a single layer of cuboidal cells with striated borders. It functions especially in the reabsorption of sugar, sodium and chloride ions, and water from the glomerular filtrate.
