Parallax method is a method of measuring distances between objects. And in astronomy, the parallax method is a means of measuring the distance between our solar system and a star up to 1600 light years away.
Parallax formula: d = 1/p
Where:
p = parallax angle in arcseconds
d = distance in "Parsecs"
Example -
- The star alpha Centauri has a parallax of p=0.742-arcsec:

- A star is measured to have a parallax of p=0.02-arcsec:
