What is meant by antidiuretic hormone.

Antidiuretic hormone is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland which influences the absorption of water by kidney tubules. it is also known as vasopressin. It is a peptide hormone. it is released when the body is dehydrated and causes the kidneys to conserve water, thus concentrating the urine, and reducing urine volume
