What is loudness of sound?What factors does it depend on?

Loudness of sound is a measure of response of sound to our ear. Loudness ofsound is not simply the energy reaching the human ear, but it also tells about the sensitivity of human ear detecting this energy. Loudness of sound is measured in decibel (dB). As energy reaching the ear depends on square of amplitude, so loudness of sound depends on two factors (z) Amplitude of sound waves and sensitivity of the ear.

If there is even a small defect, the ultrasound gets reflected back indicating the presence of flaw or defect. (b) With the above property of ultrasound waves, Can ultrasonic waves be used in the medical field? If so, how and give one use in the medical field to justify your answer? (c) Give two practical applications of reflection of sound waves?
