Expert Answer:

Critical angle: The maximum angle of incidence that can be formed by a light ray in passing from a dense medium to a less dense medium. The angle is measured between a ray and a perpendicular erected at the intersection of the ray with the surface of the medium. The critical angle of an air-glass surface is about 42 degrees.
