what is inertia of direction?

Inertia of direction is the fundamental property possessed by a body to oppose any change in it's direction of motion. Or in other words,the body does not want to change its directions of motion but wants to continue its state of motion in a straight line. This is inertia of motion.

For example:

When a bus takes a sharp turn to its right,we move towards the left.
