Dear Student,
Filtration is the process of separating suspended solid matter from a liquid, by causing the latter to pass through the pores of a membrane, called a filter.
For example,
The most common example of filtration from day-to-day life is filtration of tea. While tea making, we filter out tea leaves using sieve pores through which only tea extract solution will pass through and tea leaves get stuck over the sieve pores due to their big size and insolubility in water.
