Electronegativity, symbol χ, is a chemical property that describes the ability of an atom (or, more rarely, a functional group) to attract electrons (or electron density) towards itself in a covalent bond
The electron affinity, of an atom or molecule is the energy required to detach an electron from a singly charged negative ion, The electron affinity is a measure of the energy change when an electron is added to a neutral atom to form a negative ion.
The ionization potential, ionization energy of an atom or molecule is the energy required to remove one mole of electrons from one mole of isolated gaseous atoms or ions.
