What is efflorescene?

Efflorescence is a deposit of soluble salts which are usually white in color. They usually appear on the surface of damp concrete construction. It appears as white powder which causes softening of color or is in concentrated patches.
In simple words, efflorescence is growth of salt crystals caused by evaporation salt water.
