SONAR stands for SOund Navigation And Ranging and RADAR stands for RAdio Detection And Ranging.SONAR and RADAR are both detection systems used to identify objects and their position when they are at a distance and not seen directly. RADAR uses for detection of the reflection of a transmitted signal of radio waves, which are electromagnetic waves and SONAR uses for detection of the reflection of a transmitted signal of acoustic or sound waves, which are mechanical waves.
