what is difference between 0.5m NaOH and 0.5M NaOH

0.5 m NaOH is pronounced as 0.5 molal NaOH - It means 0.5 moles of NaOH is present in 1 kg of water.
 
0.5 M NaOH is pronounced as 0.5 molar NaOH- It means 0.5 moles of NaOH is present in 1 litre of solvent.
