answered-by-expert Expert Answer

in contradiction method we assume that the result to be proved is true.

we continue then we come across a statement which can never be true....e.g. a perfect square is negative.

when you come across such a statement, you realise that it has happened because our basic assumption was wrong.

so the result to be proved is true , this assumption is wrong

so, conclude that the reult to be proved is not true.
