What is colony morphology
Asked by vahul95 | 14th Jun, 2008, 02:23: PM
Colony is nothing but a mass of bacterial growth on solid medium. Most isolated colonies develop from one or a few cells.
These colonies exhibit certain characteristics, typical to the colony of that particular bacterial strain. These characteristics are included under colony morphology. These may be shape, size, texture, elevation, pigmentation etc. Colony morphology is constant for a given organism and growth medium combination.
