1. Chloroplast is a plastid (a cellular organelle) that contains chlorophyll and in which photosynthesis takes place. Chloroplasts are present in plants and some protists, converting solar energy to chemical energy in sugars. This plastid gives the green colour to leaves and stems.

2. Glucose is a simple sugar which is an important source of energy in many living organisms and is component of carbohydrates.
Molecular formula of glucose is C6H12O6

3. The source of glucose molecules in plants is the product formed by the process of photosynthesis which is ultimately stored in the parts of plants.

4. Plants absorb water and minerals from the soil through roots and transport theseto leaves, where food is prepared.
Plants have pipe-like vesselsto transport water and nutrients from the soil. These vessels are made of special cells forming a vascular tissue.
The vascular tissue for the transport of water and nutrients in plants is called xylem
When plants absorb mineral nutrients and water from the soil, some of it is absorbed by the plant while some evaporates through the stomata present on the surface of the leaves by the process of transpirationThis evaporation of water from leaves causes a suction pull which is able to pull water to great heights in tall trees.

5. Plants take water and mineral nutrients from the soil through the roots and transport it to the leaves through a vascular tissue called xylem. The xylem forms a continuous network of channels that connects roots to the leaves through the stem and branches and thus transports water and nutrients to the entire plant.
