Expert Answer
Dear Student,
C-O bond means the bond between carbon atom and oxygen atom.
O-H bond means the bond between oxygen atom and hydrogen atom.
Hydroxyl group means '-OH' group or alcoholic group.
Alkyl group is formed by loss of one hydrogen atom from alkanes.
For example, alkyl groups such as methyl (CH3-), ethyl (-CH2CH3) groups are formed by loss of one hydrogen atom from alkanes such as methane, ethane respectively.
