Following is the solution of your question
A function is said to be one to one if every element of domain has a unique image
i.e
f(x) = f(y) gives x = y
If the function is not one -one then it is many to one
if every element in B is the image of some element in A, f is onto.For an onto function range = co-domain.
A function which is both one-one and onto is called a bijective function or a bijection
