Baling is a process by which a large bundle or package is prepared for shipping, storage, or sale. The fibre is tightly compressed into bales and secured by wires, hoops and cords. With respect to plant fibres, baling is carried out just before transporting the processed fibre to factories and mills.
In baling of silk and cotton, silk and cotton fibres are reeled into skeins (loosely coiled and knotted length of yarn) and then shipped to silk and cotton mills respectively all over the world.
