Colloidal substance:
It is a heterogeneous mixture made up of two phases namely, dispersed phase and dispersion medium.
Dispersed phase: The substance distributed as particles is called dispersed phase.
Dispersion medium: The continuous phase in which the colloidal particles are dispersed is called dispersion medium.
