Air pollutant is a gas or an aerosol produced by human activities whose concentration threatens living organisms or the environment. The chief constituents of air impurities are:
i. Oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur.
ii. Heavy metals like nickel lead cadmium, arsenic, etc.
iii. Fluoride compounds.
iv. Particulate matters like dust, grit, fly ash, etc.
v. Hydrocarbons.
