Expert Answer
Britain declared war on Germany in 1914 because of the following reasons:
- Belgian port's geographic location were strategically close to the British coast.
- In such circumstances, German control of Belgium would have been a serious threat to Britain.
- On of 4th August 1914, Germany attacked France through Belgium.
- Britain took this as a direct threat on its own security and sovereignty, therefore they declared war on Germany.
